I composed a special BGM for ‘LUFTBAUM’ – the 28th and 29th floor dining area at NEWoMan Takanawa North, opened on Friday 12th September 2025.
The areas featuring BGM begin at the 2nd-floor lift hall, which serves as the entrance, and span a total of seven locations.
In the botanical garden known as the ‘Midori no Niwa’ [Emerald Garden], an immersive audio system has been installed. This system utilises multi-channel speakers to create a 3-D sound field, featuring 8 distinct soundscapes representing the four seasons plus day and night. This level of acoustic setting appears to be a world first for a commercial facility.
After much trial and error and immersion, I feel it has resulted in something quite intriguing and pleasant. It feels like one of those things I’ve wanted to do for years has finally come to fruition. Please do give it a try.
Please note that ‘Midori no Niwa’ will also be used as an event space, so the soundscapes I created may not always be playing. For details, please refer to the website for NEWoMan Takanawa.
